Every vehicle has a larger bed that provides nearly seven inches of floor width. One of the most interesting improvements is an available power-operated tailgate, which enables owners to open and close the tailgate with the key fob or button inside the cab. The truck weighs less and is larger than its predecessor with a wheelbase 3.9 inches longer than the current model and increased overall length of 1.6 inches. Chevy stamped the bed as two pieces, reducing its weight and enabling engineers to increase bed space up to 23 percent. The new roll-formed, high-strength steel bed floor is one-and-a-half times stronger than the previous model and has 12 stationary tie-downs, double the strength of the previous ones.
