SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for improving the appearance of a vehicle, both inside and out, in order to look presentable for the customer. The detailer is also responsible for other miscellaneous tasks as requested by management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares vehicles for customer presentation or lot display
  • Inspects vehicles for cleanliness and damage
  • Scrub, scrape, or spray vehicles, using scrapers, brushes, cloths, cleaners, disinfectants, acid, abrasives, vacuums, and hoses
  • Mixes cleaning solutions, abrasive compositions, and other compounds, according to formulas
  • Cleans and polishes vehicle windows
  • Applies paints, dyes, polishes, re-conditioner, waxes, and masking materials to vehicles in order to preserve, protect, or restore color and condition
  • Identify any vehicle needs

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • A love for vehicles
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record, as outlined by company policy
  • Time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail orientated
  • Excellent active listening and speaking skills
  • Ability to resolve problems
  • Flexible to change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Stay self-motivated with minimal supervision throughout the day
  • Operate all types of automobiles, including manual transmission

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 – $19.00 per hour

Duties to achieve success:
  • Consulting and guiding customers to the appropriate next step of the sales process
  • Demonstrate vehicles by explaining characteristics, capabilities and features; taking test drives; comparing and contrasting competitive models; explaining warranties and services.
  • Prepares sold vehicles for delivery prior to customer arrival; deliver vehicles to customers to ensure that the customer understands the vehicle’s operating features, warranty, and paperwork, and lay the foundation for customer loyalty
  • Establish personal income goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goals.
  • Report to the vehicle Sales Manager regarding objectives, planned activities, reviews, and analyses.
  • Stay informed of incoming inventory, features, accessories, etc., and how they benefit customers.
  • Attend sales meetings and training offered by the dealership and the manufacturer.
  • Utilize the CRM to prospect and to maintain a repeat and referral business.
  • Understand the terminology of the automobile business and keep abreast of technological changes in the product.
  • Writes complete sales orders and processes paperwork in accordance with established dealership policies.
  • Transition customers to the service department to support the ownership experience
  • Maintain professional personal appearance. Adhere to a consistent and reliable work schedule.
  • Demonstrate ethical business practices and integrity in all interactions. Effectively perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
