Vehicle Overview

Ford fans are understandably excited about the upcoming 2021 Ford F-150. The 2021 model will introduce this iconic nameplate’s 15th generation, and this will mark the first time that Ford has redesigned the F-150 in more than six years. So, what can you expect? This Brad Deery Ford review is an opportunity to inform you about everything we know so far as well as speculate a bit based on the previous F-150 generation, other recent Ford makeovers and even some insider information. Brad Deery Ford is your local Ford dealership serving Quad Cities Davenport Bettendorf Maquoketa Iowa, and we can keep you abreast of the latest F-150 information as soon as we get it, and we get it first.

Maquoketa IA - 2021 Ford F-150 Overview

Exterior – 2021 Ford F-150

Like the previous generation, the 2021 Ford F-150 – Maquoketa Edition will be available in three cab styles: a traditional pickup cab with a single row, a two-door extended cab called the SuperCab and a four-door extended cab called the SuperCrew. As far as we know so far, Ford will offer the same three bed lengths: 5.5, 6.5 and 8.0 feet. Currently, the long bed is available with the regular and SuperCab. The 6.5-foot bed is available with all cab styles, and the short bed is generally limited to the SuperCrew. One exception is the Raptor, which pairs the SuperCab with the shortest bed. Ford is expected to maintain the current trim lineup, which is pretty well dialed in: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited. There is no word yet on the off-road Raptor variant, but it’s hard to imagine the F-150 series without it, and there is also an electric variant on the way, but it’s unclear if that will make it in time for 2021.

Interior – 2021 Ford F-150 in Maquoketa

The 2021 Ford F-150 – Maquoketa Edition will also have a totally redesigned interior, but the new design is still getting final refinements, which makes it tough to review 2021 Ford F-150 interiors. Nevertheless, we do know that the dashboard will feature a bilevel design that allows the touchscreen to sit higher in the driver’s view. An 8.0-inch touchscreen will be standard. A 12.0-inch unit will be optional, and the driver information area will be more advanced and customizable. In terms of passenger volume, you expect more than with the previous generation. The regular cab will be sized just like the front area of the SuperCab and SuperCrew. The biggest difference will be rear legroom between the SuperCab and SuperCrew. The crew cab currently offers 10.1 more inches of legroom at 43.6 inches overall.

Mechanical – Ford F-150 specs in Maquoketa

It’s not yet possible to review 2021 Ford F-150 drivetrains because Ford has not yet released the specifications. However, the automaker has confirmed that both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive will be available. Rear-wheel drive will be standard. Four-wheel drive will be optional with practically all available cab, bed and trim combinations. The only exceptions will be special variants, such as the Raptor, which is an off-road-focused trim level and thus exclusively an all-wheel-drive vehicle.

Powertrain – Ford F-150 specs in Maquoketa IA

The powertrain section is perhaps the aspect of this Brad Deery Ford review to which Ford fans are most looking forward. What the team at Brad Deery Ford knows is that the 2021 Ford F-150 will be available with at least six distinct powertrains. This includes a hybrid powertrain for the first time in the history of the F-150: a twin-turbo 3.5L V6 assisted by a 35-kW electric motor. The other engines include a 3.3L V6, a 5.0L V8, a twin-turbo 2.7L V6 and a 3.0L diesel V6. Ford’s sophisticated 10-speed automatic transmission will be prominently featured, but it’s unclear if it will be used across the entire lineup.

Safety – 2021 Ford F-150 dealer

It’s, of course, impossible to review 2021 Ford F-150 safety ratings because the IIHS and NHTSA have not yet received the vehicle. The F-150 has traditionally been one of the safest and most durable vehicles in its class, and we expect nothing less from the 2021 Ford F-150 – Maquoketa Edition. All F-150 models will feature Ford’s latest infotainment system: SYNC 4. The base models will have a 7-inch touchscreen with all the bells and whistles, including Android and Apple and perhaps Amazon device integration. Standard driver assistance technologies will include a forward collision mitigation system, and there will be options as well, including traffic-adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist.
