Davenport IA - 2019 RAM 1500's Overview

Exterior - 2019 RAM 1500

Available with either a 5-foot 7-inch bed or a 6-feet 4-inch one, this new truck, at the base level, has halogen quad headlamps that automatically turn on or off depending on the amount of outdoor light, and is fitted with 18-inch steel wheels. You will get an upgrade to 18-inch aluminum wheels if you get any trim above the base-level Tradesman. The Big Horn / Lone Star, which is the next level up, adds halogen fog lamps for more penetrating illumination. Those fog lamps have their halogen bulbs replaced with longer-lasting and brighter LEDs on the Laramie, which also has its halogen headlights upgraded to LED reflector ones. The Rebel swaps the halogen tail lamps with LED ones. On the Laramie Longhorn® and Limited, there's a major overhaul with the introduction of bi-function LED projector headlights with automatic high beam control. Also, the truck bed gets the benefit of LED lighting for improved visibility.

Mechanical - RAM 1500 specs near Davenport IA

The 2019 RAM 1500 uses a coil spring arrangement for its front suspension, a five-link design for its rear suspension, and heavy-duty shock absorbers to absorb bumps and dips on the driving surface. This system is supplanted by a four-corner air suspension on the top-level Limited trim for adjusting drivability with five ride height settings. Disc brakes are implemented on all four wheels of the truck for shortening stopping distances.

The new RAM truck uses a 3.6-liter Pentastar flex fuel-capable V6 engine, which generates 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, on all trims but the Laramie and Limited trim levels. Those models go with a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 instead, with its 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are joined to an 8-speed automatic transmission, and you can choose between a rear-wheel drivetrain for boosting fuel efficiency and towing capability (up to 12,750 lbs.) and a four-wheel-drive system for improved all-weather driving and traction performance.

For restraint and cushioning in the event of a collision, the truck has dual front impact airbags, a pair of front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and a pair of side curtains that flank both rows. Also standard on the truck are electronic vehicle stability control and roll mitigation, low-beam daytime running lamps, traction control, an anti-lock braking system, brake assist, rain brake support, ready-alert braking, hill start assist, and the Sentry Key® theft-deterrent system, which combines remote keyless entry with engine immobilization. On the Laramie, Laramie Longhorn®, and Limited, a security alarm spruces up Sentry Key®, and the Rebel is notably the only model with hill descent control for a safe drive down rough terrain without the need for any brake output.
